Milking Machine Testing
Book NowDonald Engineering carry out Milk Machine Testing throughout Southland.
Donald Engineering staff are part of the New Zealand Milking & Pumping Trade Association (MPTA). Regular milk machine testing is now compulsory, with testing to be completed twice a year, and for good reason. It’s estimated that in New Zealand dairy herds, faulty milking equipment is the cause of as many as 40-50% of new clinical cases. Over an extended period, poorly functioning milking machines cause teat damage and risk the rate of mastitis and other infections.
It’s important to use a technician who is part of the MPTA, as they regularly submit their work for assessment and are routinely trained on the latest in milk machine testing. With New Zealand being a major dairy exporter, we have to conform closely to international milking standards. Donald Engineering technicians will supply you with a report and give you the most cost-effective solutions to upgrade and get your dairy shed components up to standard.
Immediate additional testing and servicing is recommended if any of the following is observed in your dairy shed:
- Cows appear to milk slowly or incompletely
- Teat cups slip or fall frequently
- Teat condition is poor
- Cows show signs of discomfort
Donald Engineering registered machine testers take a few hours to asses your shed and will provide you with a written report of assessment, with recommendations on improvements to meet regulation. They can also perform small repairs onsite, saving you an additional call out fee.
